Let's create a site together...

My principles of web design

1) As a photographer, I believe that first of all, a website must be visually attractive to the viewer. That's what is going to keep you there and will leave a lasting memory on your mind.
At the same time, this visual form must enhance the content, not distract from it.

We can combine both your images and my images to make it more fun, exciting, interactive and up-to-date. If you're missing certain photos, I can always come and do the photography, even if you're in Timbuktu.

If you're not in Timbuktu, but in a more remote corner of the planet, I can always do some abstract photography which we will design especially to your site.

2) All information should be presented in a user friendly way, easy to navigate, click on, and lead you further.
It is part of my job as the web designer to see that all content is presented in a clear and organized manner.

3) The introduction pages should be kept as simple as possible, using a graphic design, logo and possibly collages which will signal the clear message you want to give your viewer.

4) Animated gif's and pop-overs can make a site more exciting and fun. However, they should be used with discretion, only if they are fitting the content and design of the site.

5) Don't think of your web site as an electronic version of other press / advertising material you may have. Your website should be made up of new elements.
It should be dynamic, moving and not static, containing an element of curiousity. Your customer will become involved and want to see more of your site.
As the provider, you must have an attitude. And be proud to show it. You must give your potential customer more than just information and data: show him / her opinions, statements, transmit emotions.

Building an idea...

So many elements can play a role in building a site; in this case we're talking about ecology

To get started
The customer delivers:
• Sketches and/or drawings of the start page
• Photos, illustrations and logos for possible use
• Any material previously used for promotion
• All relevant texts

Teamwork
Together, we make out a plan for the structure of the site.
Sometimes the customer contact is over the net, if you are in Copenhagen, we can meet in my office. I like to give my customer personal attention.
I am always ready to listen to ideas, to brainstorm or develop a concept together with you or on my own.

Technical details
The HTML I do is basically designed for 3.0 browser version, though a few features, like "mouse-over effects", can only be viewed in 4.0 browsers.

I always take consideration to the fact that there are still many net-users with slow modems and lower band-width connections (14.4 modems), small 14" screens and only 256 colours.
Web pages must be fast-loading, screen colour-safe, and the images must be compressed. I have the optimal software for this.

The process
An example of how a site is built:

• Day 1 and 2: Selection of relevant photo and text material – conceptual decisions. Draft of the site and the site map. Possible: supplementary photography.

• Day 3: Basic design, Photoshop work with collages, deciding on templates.

• Day 4, & 5: Production of the pages.
Do not disturb

• Day 6: After final approval from customer, I promote the site on the web and see that it is submitted to 30 of the most important search engines.

Interactivity
To make a website that is useful and lively, you need to have interactivity with your customers and users. A guest book, a feedback page, an order form, or a simple response formular, will enhance the site tremendously.

Server space and 'webhotel'
The customer is responsible for buying the necessary server space at an Internet provider. All I need is the ftp-address, user-ID and password to the server, so that I can upload the files when they are ready. If you don't know which Internet provider to choose, I can recommend the right one for you.

Domain name
You should have a nice and short webaddress, like "www.yourcompany.dk" rather than "www.webhotel.dk/home/users/yourcompany". This is ordered through your Internet provider.

Promotion
Once the site is ready, you'll need to promote it - to make it known! You need to be "signed up" in all the major search engines, like Yahoo, Altevista, Jubii, Kvasir, etc. You can exchange links with other sites, place banner ads, send out emails, start a mailinglist, etc. If you wish, I can assist you in these matters.

Maintenance
Arrangements can be made for how to maintain the site, according to the customer's wishes. I can teach you how to do it yourself, or we can make a.
contract on how often you wish me to update it for you.

Prices
When we have an idea of the amount of pages and features involved, then we can fix a contracted agreement on price and deadline.
Each website is unique, and is priced according to the client's requirements.

Please use the Information / order form, or email:
info@multifoto.dk
to give me an idea of what you're looking for in a website, and I will be pleased to give you a free estimate.
